Replacement of the reduction valve (engines 1,3 and 1,6 D)
The task of the reduction valve is to stabilize the oil pressure in the lubrication system. The valve is located on the side of the hull, behind the crankshaft pulley. 0 too low oil pressure is indicated by lighting or glowing of the control lamp. In this case, the reduction valve must be dismantled and checked.
■ Unscrew the screw plug of the pressure reduction valve and take out the spring located beneath it and the piston.
■ Check, that the piston does not jam in the seat and is not significantly contaminated. Replace or clean the piston if necessary.
■ Insert the washed piston and spring. Screw in the plug with a new copper gasket and tighten to torque 30 N m m.
■ Check the oil level in the engine and top up if necessary.
