Thermostat replacement (engine 1,2)
The thermostat is located on the top of the coolant pump. Disconnect the hose that goes to this socket and collect the leaked liquid. Leveraging with a screwdriver, remove the snap ring from the groove, which fixes the thermostat. Replace the thermostat. The new one should be put in this way, the spring is at the bottom. 0 use a new sealing ring if possible. Proceed in the reverse order to assembly. Finally, top up the amount of fluid in the system.
Thermostat replacement (engine 1,3)
The thermostat is located behind the toothed belt cover. To drain the correct amount of fluid, disconnect the upper rubber hose from the thermostat housing and the radiator. Collect the liquid in a vessel for reuse. Remove the toothed belt cover, and then unscrew the screws securing the thermostat housing. Remove the casing and take the thermostat out of the head. The thermostat gasket should be replaced. Insert the new thermostat into the head seat. The rest of the steps are as for disassembly.
Thermostat replacement (engine 1,6 D)
The thermostat housing is located on the front of the head, above the injection pump.
■ Open the cap of the expansion tank.
■ Remove the three screws securing the cover to the thermostat housing.
■ Collect the drained fluid
■ Remove the thermostat.
■ Fit a new thermostat with a new sealing ring.
■ Install the housing cover with a new gasket.
■ Top up the coolant.
