Replacing the brake hose

To prevent the brake fluid from running out of the system, Screw the cap tightly closing the filler opening onto the fluid reservoir. If I do not have such a stopper, each unscrewed brake hose should be closed with a properly selected plug. The brake fluid level in the reservoir should reach the “MAX”

Front left flexible hose

■ Remove the pipe from the hose clip.

■ Unscrew the handle from the bracket at the wheel arch.

■ Remove the hollow bolt from the brake calliper, remove the gasket and the flexible hose.

■ If a wear sensor for the friction inserts is present, disconnect the electric cable supplying the sensor from the brake line.

 

Front right flexible hose

■ Unscrew the cap nut that connects the brake pipe to the brake pipe. In doing so, hold the hose nipple with a spanner.

■ Remove the lock washer and take the hose out of the support.

■ If there is a wear sensor on the friction inserts, remove the clip from the cable.

■ Remove the hollow bolt from the brake calliper, remove the gasket and the flexible hose.

Installation of the cables is performed in the reverse order. Place a new gasket under the hollow bolt. The cap nut is tightened with the torque 11 N m m. The left hose holder tightens to the bracket with a moment 8 N * m Check while turning the steering wheel as far as it will go, that the brake hose does not rub or twist anywhere.

Rear flexible hose

■ On the underside of the body, unscrew the cap nuts at the hose connections with two pipes.

■ Remove the securing clip with pliers.

■ Take the flexible hose out of the holder.

Insert the new flexible hose into the holder without twisting, the flattened side facing the flat surface of the handle. Install the securing washer and tighten the cap nut.

After replacing both the front wire, and the rear, Bleed nozzles of the brake system In addition, the tightness at the connection points of the new lines must be checked.

Rigid cable

Rigid brake lines are available as spare parts together with cap nuts. Instead of the original hoses, you can also use a normal diameter brake hose 4,75 Mm. Then slide the cap nut on the cable and fold the end of the cable with a special device.

Following this old cable, shape the new one, using a pipe bender. The brake line must not run between the electric lines, their mutual spacing should exceed 25 Mm.
