Coolant pump replacement (engine 1,2)
■ Disconnect the rubber hoses to the coolant pump. Collect the leaking liquid in a container.
■ Loosen the pulley bolts on the fluid pump.
■ Loosen the alternator mounting and remove the V-belt.
■ Remove the pulley from the pump shaft.
■ Unscrew the bolts securing the pump to the head and remove the pump. Remove any gasket residue from the contact area. Coat the new seal with bearing grease on both sides. It is not necessary to use a sealant. The pump is installed in the reverse order of removal. After installing the V-belt, determine its correct tension. When pouring fluid through the expansion tank, bleed the system through the heater hose to the head. After bleeding, add fluid in the tank to the required level.
