Replacing the fuel pump

■ Loosen the clamps on the suction and pressure lines. Pull the wires off the fuel pump.

■ Bend the hose from the fuel tank or clamp it with a clamp, to prevent fuel leakage.

■ Unscrew both fastening nuts on the pump base.

■ Carefully pull the pump and the insulating washer off the threaded Studs, without damaging the gasket.

Before installing the pump, the following steps must be set up.

■ Determine the amount of pusher protrusion (1, Lynx. 2.89) from the insulating pad. For this purpose, to the hull, where the pump is attached, put the insulating washer on (2) and two gaskets (3 and 4). Then insert the pusher into the hole.

■ Turn the crankshaft or camshaft in this way (intermediate shaft), that the pusher is fully extended. The pusher should protrude by 1.15…1.35 Mm. If it is otherwise, it is necessary to change the thickness of the gasket (3), which occurs in the following dimensions:

– from 0.27 into 0.33 Mm,

– from 0,70 into 0,80 Mm,

– from 1,20 into 1.30 Mm.

The rest of the assembly steps are in the reverse order to disassembly.
