This operation basically consists in following the steps described in the previous section. The brake fluid is pumped out of the system through the vents, pressing the brake pedal (the air vent must be provided with a hose).
When the old fluid no longer comes out, refill the tank and bleed the entire system. Finally, top up the fluid in the reservoir up to the “MAX”
Checking the tightness of the braking system
To test the tightness of the braking system, a device for applying pressure to the pedal with a pressure gauge is needed (e.g. Opel KM-325 or MW-86). This device shall be positioned between the driver's seat cushion and the brake pedal, then spread it out, so that the pointer stands on the scale.
This builds up pressure in the brake system. The pointer should stay still. If it goes down, this is indicative of a leak, which must be removed immediately.
Visually inspect the brake line connections, locate the leak. Most often this is the place, where the repair was previously carried out. A leak can also appear in the brake cylinder.
