Caliper piston cover replacement
If it is found when installing new friction inserts, the caliper piston cover is damaged, it should be replaced as follows.
Snap type A TE
Leveraging with a screwdriver, remove the guard securing ring.
To remove the cover, you have to push the plunger out a little, e.g. by carefully pressing down on the brake pedal. First insert the new cover into the piston groove, then into the groove of the caliper body After pressing the piston into the caliper cylinder, place the circlip over the edge of the guard.
Clamp type GMF
The cover must first be moved at its seat with a cutter, and then you can pry it off with a screwdriver. Press the sliding sleeve inwards and remove the cover from its groove. Insert the new cover into the piston groove, then slide it onto the caliper body. You can push the piston out a bit. The cover should be pushed all the way in using the Opel KM-405 special tool. By attaching the luminaire to the body, the bolts must be tightened to the torque 95 N m m.
