Clutch cable replacement
Cable replacement (tendon) of the clutch is to do the following.
■ Measure the length of the threaded end of the tie rod at the clutch release lever between the edge of the adjusting nut and the tip of the end The same dimension must be maintained when installing a new tie rod.
■ Remove the safety clip from the cable and disconnect the cable from the clutch release lever.
■ Unhook the retraction spring and the end of the cable from the clutch pedal in the cabin.
■ In the engine compartment, pull the cable out of the bulkhead. The steps of installing a new clutch cable are performed in the reverse order to the previous one, remembering to set the adjustment nut at the specified distance.
Clutch pedal adjustment
■ Measure the distance from the center of the clutch pedal (in the rest position) to the lower outer edge of the steering wheel. We will call this distance the dimension "A”.
■ Depress the clutch pedal fully and repeat the above measurement. We will call this distance the dimension ,,B’
■ Calculate the difference between a dimension ,,B” i „A”, which should be 138 Mm (maximum 145 Mm).
■ If you get a different value, turn the adjusting nut on the threaded end of the tie rod accordingly. It is necessary to pull the nut away from the clutch release lever first. A correctly adjusted clutch pedal should protrude above the brake pedal. When the pedals are at the same height, it may be difficult to disengage the clutch and shift gears.
Clutch pedal free travel does not exist. As the clutch disc linings wear, the pedal rises.
