Cooperation with ESP

The idea behind Bosch's steering systems is therefore based on a much cheaper solution. It can be used in any car, which has electric power steering and ESP, and its operation depends only on the appropriate system software. The point is, that the signals sent to ESP informing about the inconsistency of the actual track of the car with this, what the driver expects, can be used to optimize the assist function. In other words, steering servo, strengthening and weakening its effect, is to help the driver to properly stabilize the car's movement, which e.g.. starts to slip dangerously.

The solution is, technically simple, it requires a really precise definition of any relationship between "turning the steering wheel" and the behavior of the car. Bosch is in the software development phase, but in the coming years we can expect the practical implementation of this idea.
