■ Remove the pulley from the crankshaft (with two screwdrivers) and a vibration damper (in the engine 1.6 D).

■ Remove the rear toothed belt cover and idler (engine 1.6 D).

■ Unscrew the oil pump from the casing and remove it.

Unscrew the suction strainer from the disassembled pump and remove the cover. Check the tooth play with a feeler gauge. which should be 0.1.. 0,2 mm and axial play, which should be 0,08- 0,15 Mm (0.03…0,1 mm for the engine 1.6 D). The latter of these measurements is performed, using a straight edge placed against the face of the pump casing If the specified ranges of allowable clearances have been exceeded, pump or pump components must be replaced.

■ Open all oil channel plugs, unscrew the screw plug of the reduction valve and remove its elements. Wash all parts in extraction gas. To check, that the valve components can be easily moved at the place of installation.

■ Lubricate the gears with oil and insert into the pump housing. Replace the pump cover without gasket and screw on. Close the oil channels with plugs coated with sealant (e.g. Curil). Install the reducing valve, then the dragon.

■ Place the pump on the crankshaft, covering its pivot with a properly selected sleeve. Fit a new gasket under the pump. Follow the rest of the steps in the reverse order to disassembly.
