Although a lot has changed in Yaris, the character of the car remained the same. This, who knows the previous version, in the new one you will feel at home. Currently, every fourth Toyota sold in Europe is Yaris, and by the way, the most popular Japanese car on the Old Continent. Yaris appeared at a somewhat specific point. In fact, the predecessor did not get old, and the matter is complicated by the appearance of a competitor from the same label – Aygo. So the little Toyota cannot boast, that is the cheapest. Therefore, the generation of Yaris faces quite a serious challenge.
The car was built on a new floor plate. Although it has changed noticeably, we can easily recognize it, that, however, we are dealing with Yaris. The new Toyota proposal is more modern, a more dynamic interpretation of the predecessor's styling. The car has grown a bit – is about 11 cm longer, 3,5 cm wider and 3 cm higher. THE 9 cm, the wheelbase has also increased. By the way, the proportions of the body have changed – Yaris has become almost single-body, this is due to the clear shift of the windshield to the front (thus the engine cover was shortened).
Looking at Yaris, you can expect, that these changes will result in a spacious interior. And actually, second-row passengers in particular will feel this. Even after the front seats have been pulled back a long way (proper, e.g.. for a driver of height 190 Cm) in the back, people measuring to will sit comfortably 180 Cm. The couch has even more possibilities. Two levers on the backrest allow the seat to be moved forward, and the position of the backrest without removing the headrests. Fast, light and pleasant we get a load compartment with a flat floor and volume 737 l. Need to add, that the trunk of the Yaris – unlike the older version – even with the normal position of the seats, it has a satisfactory capacity (272 l). Transport capacity is increased by an impressive number of storage compartments – their total volume is 18,2 l.
Passengers should therefore be satisfied, with luggage shouldn't be a problem either. What about the driver's seat? His armchair has little to do with the… armchair. Closer to him – similar body position and support. In the city, where we move rather short distances, no problems with that. This is even an advantage, because it makes it easier to get in and out of the car. On longer distances, however, it is difficult to talk about the comfort of travel. A standard two-way steering wheel adjustment would also be useful. Without it, her wreath is too far from the leader.
The instrument panel has retained the characteristic features of its predecessor – primarily the electronic instrument cluster located on top of the center console. Ergonomics is at the level typical of all Japanese cars. Plastics, though hard, they look solid. And certainly much better than in the older model.
The designers changed almost everything in the Yaris, but yes, not to be too conspicuous. It is difficult to talk about a gap or a gigantic improvement compared to its predecessor. But there is no indication that this is so, so that the new Yaris is no longer a favorite of the ladies.
