Types of axles and suspensions. The axle of a car is an assembly consisting of elements, on which the wheels of the car are rotatably mounted, elements for determining their position in relation to the car and elements for transferring forces between the wheels and the car We distinguish two types of axles: load axles and driving axles. The vehicle's load-bearing axle carries its share of the vehicle's weight, but does not transmit torque to the road wheels. The car's drive axle also takes on its share of the vehicle's weight, but at the same time it transmits torque to the car's road wheels. The drive axle is often called a drive axle. A car's suspension is called all the elements connecting the axle, driving axle or wheels with a frame or with a self-supporting body. The suspension may be dependent (otherwise – stiff) or independent. Front load axle with dependent suspension (stiff) Wheels, it consists of an I-section steel beam and switches, articulated therein by a steering pin. There are saddles on the beam with springs attached to them, through which the axle connects to the frame. The front axle beam can be bent downwards to lower the car's center of gravity. Crossovers, on which the front road wheels are mounted, enable the turning of the wheels.
