Adjusting the "fast" idle
Pierburg 2E3 carburetor
■ Connect the tachometer.
■ Measure the CO concentration and idling speed of the engine warmed up to operating temperature (oil temperature 60 .. 80 C).
■ Remove the air filter.
■ Stop the engine.
■ Adjustment screw (with a white cap) set to the second step of the stepped disc.
■ Start the engine, without touching the pedal “gas”.
■ The "fast" idle speed should be 2100 ..2500 rpm (2400.. 2800 rpm with automatic gearbox). In order to correct it, turn the adjusting screw accordingly.
Weber carburetor 32 TSP
■ The engine must be adjusted to idle speed.
■ Remove the air filter.
■ Pull out the choke control completely”. The choke lever must then rest against the bumper; if necessary, adjust the active length of the choke cable”.
■ Start the engine.
■ Pulling on the cable, open the start throttle as far as it will go.
■ ..fast idle speed should be 3600…4000 rpm. Otherwise, the adjusting rod for the throttle valve setting must be turned accordingly (located under the cam disc). Re-lock the screw after adjustment.
Work with the carburetor removed
■ Turn the choke lever as far as it will go, which must close.
■ Measure the throttle gap opposite the idle mix outlet channel. For measuring the gap, which should be 0.60…0.70 Mm. use a suitable drill bit.
■ Possible gap correction with adjusting screw.
