Accelerator pump adjustment
Weber carburetor 32 TSP
■ Start the engine briefly and stop it
■ Turn the throttle lever as far as it will go. observe the fuel flow delivered by the injector. A abundant flow indicates sufficient efficiency of the accelerator pump.
If the stream is too weak, remove the carburetor and check the pump output.
■ With the carburetor removed from the engine, open the starter throttle fully and hold it in this position.
■ Position the carburetor over the graduated glass. By turning the lever, perform 10 full throttle openings. One move should go on 3 s.
■ Divide the collected fuel volume by 10. The displacement of the accelerator pump per stroke should be 6.5…9.5 cm3. If you get other values, check the operation of the pump valve, Injector patency and diaphragm condition.
Solex carburetor 35 PDSI
Measure the amount of fuel sprayed out during one stroke of the accelerator pump diaphragm. The pump is actuated by fully opening the throttle. The fuel flowing out through the injector should be collected in a graduated pipette. Pump expenditure per 1 the stroke should be 0.7 cm3.
If a different value is obtained, adjustment must be made, by turning the oblong brass nut on the pump rod. Clockwise rotation increases pump delivery, anticlockwise decrease. Re-measure the pump flow. After completing the adjustment, use universal pliers to knead the nut.
