Service and replacement of the fuel pump (engines 1,2 and 1,3)

Motors 1,2 and 1.3 are equipped with mechanical diaphragm type fuel pumps

In order to clean the filter mesh located in the pump cover, unscrew the cover screws and remove the filter.. The strainer can be cleaned, blowing with compressed air or washing with gasoline When reassembling the strainer, pay attention to the correct positioning of the sealing ring.

The fuel pump cannot be dismantled any further and must be replaced in the event of a fault as described below.

■ Loosen the clamps on the fuel pump and remove the hoses from the pump nozzles

■ Bend the fuel line to the fuel tank, to prevent gasoline leakage.

■ Remove the two bolts securing the pump to the motor and remove the pump.

■ By installing a new pump, place two paper gaskets, a compressed asbestos pad must be inserted between them

■ Screw on the pump and connect the fuel lines.
