Car tires service and maintenance. It is extremely important to maintain the proper pressure in the tires. The pressure is checked before each long ride with a pressure gauge, by putting it on the valve of the inner tube, after unscrewing the protective cap. Usually, the pressure in the front wheels is slightly lower than in the rear wheels. Tire pressure varies from car to car: in passenger car tires is 1,25-2,5 kg / cm2 and in tires for trucks and buses 4,5-6,5 kG/cm2; in the case of using high pressure tires 4,5-10 kG/cm2. The correct air pressure in the tires for each car is specified in the owner's manual. Incorrect pressure (both too low, as well as too high) causes excessive tire wear. Tires also wear out quickly during sudden braking and when driving at high speeds on curves. Incorrect alignment of the front wheels also increases tire wear. In order to ensure even wear of the tire tread, individual wheels can be adjusted every several thousand kilometers, according to the requirements of the factory manual of the given vehicle.
