Riveting of the clutch plate linings.
Usually the friction linings are delivered with the rivet holes already drilled. Rivet heads should be countersunk below the friction surface, therefore the holes in the cladding should be properly countersunk (drill it out).
Friction linings are fixed with copper or brass tubular rivets. However, steel rivets should not be used, as protruding rivet heads may damage the working surfaces of the coupling after prolonged operation.
Before riveting the linings, they should be cut slightly at the edges and carefully fitted to the clutch disc. It should be riveted with a riveter. Under no circumstances should the linings be riveted with a hammer.
