Mitsubishi Space Star – The name of the car refers to the concept of Space Wagon and Space Runner, which were previously warmly welcomed on the European market. However, Space Star, unlike its older and bigger brothers, has already been created with the customer from the old continent in mind.
It is difficult to clearly qualify the car to one of the body groups. Space Star combines the features of a classic, five-door hatchback (VW Golf, Opel Astra) as well as an extremely fashionable minivan (Renault Megane Scenic). This marriage resulted in the creation of an exceptionally spacious interior with a total length of just over 4 metry (4030 Mm) that is, as much as Fr. 120 mm less than the Golf IV and o 80 mm from Astra. From other comparisons with the aforementioned models, the 370-liter trunk draws attention, which, thanks to the possibility of moving o 15 cm of the rear seat cushion increases to 450 liters, and after it is completely folded to capacity 1370 liters. In the Golf, the luggage compartment has a capacity 330 liters and 1175 liters with the rear seat folded down. For the Astra, the same values are respectively 370 and 1180 liters.
The Space Old Mitsubishi proposes engines as the power source: 1.8 GDI (122 MILES) with direct gasoline injection into the cylinders and a modernized unit 1.3 (86 MILES) with multi-point injection already with sixteen, not twelve valves. For our rides with the Space Old, we chose a copy equipped with the latter version of the engine 1.3. This power unit does not disappoint. The car is dynamic and accelerates to the maximum speed over 170 km/h Do 100 km / h accelerates in 13,4 seconds. Classic suspension solution (McPherson speakers in the front, multi-link on the rear) provides good handling and stability when cornering.
