Fans of fast cars have been arguing for years, which car is better – Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, or the Subaru Impreza WRX STi. Recently, this peculiar "duel" has been transferred to the other segments. Fast enthusiasts, Japanese cars have a new cause for dilemma. Both manufacturers presented quick versions of their slightly off-road cars. Forester and Oudander, which are perfect for leaky Polish roads.
Comparison of the basic parameters (power, torque and maximum speed, acceleration) looks like this: Mitsubishi – 202 MILES, 303 Nm, 220 km/h and 7,7 s, Subaru – 211 MILES, 320 Nm, 224 km/h and 6,0 s. You can see immediately, that cars are direct competitors. In addition, each of them is based on components directly from the iconic models. The Oudander uses an engine with a capacity of. 21 with turbocharger and all-wheel drive, which is a modified version of that of the Lancer Evo VIIL Forester is equipped with a power unit (capacity. plus from 2,0 into 2,5 1) and a four-wheel drive train from the Impreza WRX. Subaru has a rear axle differential with increased internal friction and a self-leveling rear suspension. New inside is the Momo sports steering wheel and the standard black leather trim.
In the Mitsubishi cabin you will find elements made of carbon fiber and upholstery made of leather combined with an Alcantara. The new version of Subaru can only be distinguished by marking 2.5 XT and wheels with a new design. The Mitsubishi Outlander Turbo is easier to recognize, thanks to the large inlet on the hood. The Subaru Forester is practically on sale now (in Poland it costs 38 thousand. euro). Mitsubishi Outlander Turbo should hit Polish showrooms at the beginning 2005 r. Its price will be… competitive.
