Construction of the steering linkage. The steering linkage. This mechanism consists of the following elements: a) two switches with stubs, on which the front wheels of the vehicle are mounted, b) two switch levers (left and right), c) the transverse tie rod, connecting both switch levers, d) the steering lever connected to the longitudinal steering rod, e) longitudinal steering rod. The steering linkage in the case of independent suspension of the front wheels of the vehicle differs from the previous one in this, that there is usually no steering linkage longitudinal rod, and the track rod is patchy and folded, like for example. in the FSO Warszawa car, from three parts: a center stick and two side sticks. The steering arm is connected directly to the center rod. All parts of the steering linkage are connected to each other by means of ball joints, which makes it possible to change their mutual position in all directions.
