Spiked rotary harrows

Spiked rotary harrows.
Rotary harrows have this advantage over tine harrows, that they do not get clogged with plant residues. The working units of these harrows are loosely rotating shafts, on which cast iron stars are attached (spikes) or special steel blades. Rotating stars or blades intensively crush the lumps and crusted surface of the roll.
The spike shafts are positioned like this, that the spike marks of one shaft do not coincide with the marks of other shafts. Spike harrows are attachments, very often attached to the right side behind the plow. Because these harrows break lumps well, apply them, especially on compact and loose soils, facilitates the preparation of these soils for sowing. In humid soils, the stars of the harrow are stuck with earth, which worsens the effects of her work. The wheels of the spike harrow are used only to transport it to the field, and they are raised during operation.
